Officials have shot down a plan to erect a plaque at the Birthplace of Beatlemania, for fearing it could make the site “too popular” with tourists. The building is now a health center, and officials fear that patients will lose privacy if the plaque were to be installed. In other buzz, “Corn Flakes With John Lennon,” is a new memoir being written by Robert Hilburn, the influential former critic and reporter for the LA Times.
