What the Yankees Should Do This Off-Season
In my opinion the follwing players need to go…
1. Robinson Cano (they should put him in a package with Kennedy or Hughes for an ace)
2. Jason Giambi (he’s too old and slow, don’t re sign him)
3. Carl Pavano (enough said)
4. Bobby Abreu (nice player, we could do better. don’t re sign him)
5. Hideki Matsui (getting old an injury prone)
Ultimately I think the Yankees shouldobviously try for free agent CC Sabathia, but how about putting a package together of Hughes, Kennedy and Cano for Roy Halladay? He’s the biggest workhorse in the game and AL East tested. Its not impossible either. Don’t forget the Yanks got Cone and Clemens from the Blue Jays in the 90’s. I wouldn’t mind seeing Pettitte and Mussina back and keep Joba in the bullpen. My wish list staff would be….Halladay (trade), Sabathia (free agent), Wang, Pettitte and Mussina. That staff would be good for 70 wins just like the staffs from the 90’s.
