The Mayor of Montauk

I’ve told you on 96.1 that I was gonna take over as the unofficial “Mayor” of Montauk didn’t I? That’s how much I LOVE that town. I was thinking about all the fabulous places to eat. If you’ve never been there you need to start your morning off at the Montauk Bakeshop. I don’t know where they found that jelly but it just oozes out of their donuts and they have my vote as the best I’ve ever eaten. (more…)

Summer Memories on Long Island

Maybe it was going out to the “country” from Queens (which was Deer Park) in the early 70’s as a kid. Maybe it was listening to Casey Kasem on the beach at Robert Moses every Sunday morning so I would know the biggest hits. Or maybe it was spending the day in Rocky Point at my Dad’s friends house once a year where I got a chance to kayak on the sound.

Long Island - Beautiful, isn’t it?

So I own this mobile DJ company (like most Long Islanders I have to work a little harder because I want the finer things in life). Last week my company hosted a Greek wedding in Mattituck and as I drove along Sound Ave in Riverhead I was struck by the beauty of the Island we live on. Have you noticed it? From the winding roads of the north shore to the bustling of the South Shore it really is a beautiful island. Maybe that’s the reason why it’s called the playground capitol of the world! The next day I hosted a charity event in Wantagh and visited Wantagh Park for the very first time.  Another beautiful park that I’ve never visited in the 41 years I’ve called myself a Long Islander. Gas prices maybe through the roof but my suggestion to you as we roll into the Summer of 2008 is..
