New Years Resolution

January 5th, 2009

So, are you sick of everyone’s New Years resolutions already?

Me too.  Mainly, because resolutions are basically things I should be doing…everyday!

For example…the big one–lose weight and eat more healthy!   Or how about this one: I resolve to be there more often for my family and especially for my children.

Why would you wait until the new year to do these? Read the rest of this entry »

2008 to 2009

December 22nd, 2008

I would like to take this opportunity to say how grateful we all are here at KJOY to have such great listeners.

Thanks so much for listening while you are on your way to work, and continuing to listen to KJOY in the office and on the way home.  We are grateful so many came out to our station appearances this year.  Your support literally means everything to us.  So much so that we invite you to become a KJOY Music Lovers Club member if you haven’t done so already. President of the “I Can’t Stand Jennifer Aniston” Fan Club

December 11th, 2008

Back in the 90’s, I loved watching that show called “Friends”….always reminded me of that time in my life;  getting my career in order, finding a decent place to live, dating your good friend and marrying him.  Been there, done that last decade.  Now that I’m around that “Magical” age, I would like to say how much I hate “Friends”.  It’s all because of that nutty Jennifer Anniston.  Read the rest of this entry »

Nothing to blog about?

December 9th, 2008

I feel like I have nothing to blog about.

I feel as I shouldn’t have anything to blog about, because I am extremely grateful.  I am so grateful that I have a great, healthy family, great job, etc. when there’s so many people right now who are really struggling.

Sure, I will donate to worthy organizations, but it still causes me to pause quite a bit about how lucky I am right now.

Yeah, I could use some more money just like you.  Read the rest of this entry »

December 2nd, 2008

After this past holiday weekend’s tragedy in Valley Stream, my heart goes out to the family of Jdimytai Damour.  I hope their lawyer is really good.

Don’t Forget The Charities this Holiday Season

November 26th, 2008

There’s so much to do;  so much to prepare for for this Thanksgiving weekend.

But while you may be peeling potatoes and making pies and more tonight, Thanksgiving eve, I’d like to tell you what I’ll be doing.

I will be thinking of people who have had a hard time, lost their jobs, homes and more this past year.

I will making my donations to some of my favorite charities this holiday season.

This story broke my heart when I saw it on ABC News a couple of days ago and I hope it inspires you-like it did me- to give whatever you can too. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s really getting more difficult to back the auto company’s bailout today when you learn that their CEO’s each took a private jet to DC. Read the rest of this entry »

Historic Week Thoughts

November 6th, 2008

It’s been quite a historical week for our country.

There’s so much we can say about this election but I look forward to 10 weeks from now!  Get in there quickly, Mr. Obama!

As we congratulate President-Elect Obama on his decisive victory, I also look forward to seeing Michelle Obama as our First Lady…or as what she likes to say, as “First Mom”. Read the rest of this entry »

Tonight vs. Tomorrow Night

November 3rd, 2008

Keith Olbermann, Hannity and Colmes, The Situation Room, Anderson Cooper, Rachel Maddow and perhaps, even you Bill O’Reilly…you’ve all became such good friends over the past year.  I’ve let all of you into my home each night (after The Backyardigans) for months now, and even consider myself politically well-rounded.
