How Much TV is Too Much TV?

Did you know that we spend an average of three and a half hours a day watching TV? That’s the equivalent of 53 days a year! The Harvard School of Public Health says people who watch over two hours of television a day, on average, eat 100 more calories a day than those who only watch one hour. Over the course of a year, that’s 10 pounds.

So turn off the TV, and get your body moving, maybe while tuning in to The John Tesh Radio Show!

Ask not whether it’s right to bribe your kid to get him to behave the way you want. Ask whether or not it works. Bribing is usually bad, but we’re not talking about some big government cover-up here. We’re talking about persuading your firstborn to get off the couch and be productive. Maybe you pay him for chores – or for every ‘A’ he gets. However, here’s where it really gets tricky – what about your adult kid? You know, the one who recently finished college, moved back home, and is now planted firmly in their old bedroom. What personal moments are too private to share during a cell phone conversation? Based on a new MSNBC poll, nothing’s off limits these days. For example, one in 10 people surveyed admit they’ve chatted on a cell phone in church, one in 20 confess they’ve accepted a cell call during a funeral, and half of all people say they’ve used a cell phone while going to the bathroom!
