I was on my way driving home yesterday on one of the coldest nights of the year when I observed a large black dog veering into the road in my direction. I was going slow enough to see him out of the corner of my eye more disturbed to see him out on such a frigid night . The Dog seemed confused so I backed up to see if he was lost or just waiting for his owner. He turned up a driveway & I saw tags on his collar. I also observed a cat on the porch where the dog was waiting around , perhaps to be let in by his Owner. WHAT IS WRONG with these Pet Owners!!! Pets need to be indoors when it’s 20 degrees outside. They Have this new invention called a Dog Leash It goes on a collar so you can walk your dog & bring him back in the house. Read the rest of this entry »

The economy is a mess. We hear in the news everyday another company is laying off more people right before the holidays . Long Island is getting a bad name with what recently happened at Walmart where someone was trampled to death during a big sale. Let’s not forget the racial incident several weeks back that happened in our own backyard in Farmingville. We can focus on all of the above or we can try to find something uplifting to move us forward & inspire us to look for something positive. We can surround ourselves with Naysayers & people who live in a world of doom & gloom & be one with them( “Misery Loves Company” ) or we can strive to be the best we can personally be. Individuality is what builds character. Courage means not going along with the crowd if what the crowd does isn’t what’s comfortable for you. Confidence is key. Knowing who you are …….& being proud of the person you have become speaks volumes. It’s nice to have others acknowledge the strengths you possess when they may be in the minority. Damn it Jack…..Redemption was awesome! Last nights 24 prequel Redemption proved what I’ve always believed … 24 Fans are loyal & are not going to abandon the show anytime soon even if it’s been off the air for over a year. 12.1 million viewers according to Nielsen watched the 2 hour television event. Ironically that’s a bigger audience that watched the last show in season (6) over 18 months ago. Read the rest of this entry »

Jersey Boys is The Best show on Broadway…….I am confirming that in this blog . My Brother came out from California a few weekends ago & took me & my Mom out to see the show. My Birthday is just a few days away so it was the ultimate gift for me since I have been wanting to see the show for a while. He got us floor seats 4th row from the stage…. Amazing! The show captured the whole essence & story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons & how they came to be famous .
The story began with 4 guys from Jersey singing on the street corners to make a buck & a name for themselves. It’s the story also of 2 brothers in the group who had to go their separate ways… One was showing such talent & promise & was maturing the other was going backwards & causing the group constant stress. There was gambling & racketeering & even some jail time shared by the members of the band. The challenges to get their record heard on radio stations & their search for an Agent , Girlfriends & Wives & marriages breaking up over the success of the group, The show featured at least 30 of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons hits including: C’mon Marianne ,( their break out hit) Sherry, Ragdoll, Oh What A Night, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Who Loves You, , Walk Like A Man & many other classics!
I really enjoyed this true story come to life on the Big Broadway Stage all about the life of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. I especially enjoyed the stories behind each song & how the inspiration was found. I was not aware that all of their songwriting music & lyrics came from one guy in the band who shaped their destiny. He sometimes even sang with the group before later becoming their producer. The lead in the show was fantastic! He showed off an impressive 3 in a half octave range. He made the late great Andy Gibb sound like an alto compared to his range.
We all waited patiently for the stars of the show to come outside by the exit door to meet them. My Brother snapped a picture with the lead who played Frankie Valli & myself . I got some autographs too. While standing outside I spoke to a few people outside who told me they’ve seen the show 17 times each! Wow that’s some testimonial………
I’m convinced The ultimate Broadway Experience is Jersey Boys……….Experience it for yourself !!
